Snow Play Legos
"Snow Play" by Josephine Christian
Our Lego League team did a project about our favorite hobbies!
I love to play outside in the snow because it is really nice when you have all the protective gear on, so it’s not too hot or cold, and there are no bugs. Building snow forts and dens is one of my favorite things to do. Skating on the Riverbend Skate Path is a lot of fun. You can rent skates and skis at Doc's Harbor Inn if you don’t have your own. Northern Toboggan in Warroad has hand-crafted toboggans and sleds for sale right here in town! Fun fact: the Riverbend Skate Path is the longest skate path in North America!
My favorite place for playing in the snow? Sledding at Allison Park is so much fun because it’s not too high or too low, it’s just right for sledding.
My advice for someone just starting out with snow sports?
Proper protective gear is really important. It’s not any fun if you get cold. (See link of how to dress in winter).
Have a buddy. It’s more fun to do things together and it’s safer that way if you are skating, skiing or sledding.
Thanks!
Josephine
