My Lego League project is about my hobby of exploring the forest. I like exploring the forest because I like seeing all the plants. I like smelling the fresh air. Sometimes you can play in a creek, you can take your dog outside, you can look for mushrooms, and build a fort or a den to sleep in.

My favorite forest or places to explore? The Warroad School Forest Hayes Lake State Park and Boundary Waters Canoe Area

My advice for someone just starting out exploring the forest?

1. Wear the right clothes for the weather. Pay attention to the weather. 

2. Be aware of your surroundings. If you are hiking somewhere you should know what wildlife lives there, like bears or cougars. Chipmunks will also steal your food. 

3. Partner up with someone that knows what they are doing. My mom and my dad have taught me a lot. Knowing how to start a fire is a good skill and identifying plants and berries is helpful. I know what poison ivy and stinging nettles look like so I can avoid them.
