Our Lego League team is doing a project to help promote our favorite hobbies in Warroad! 

My favorite hobbies are reading, writing, and drawing. For drawing, I like it because it’s nice to see what you can do with your imagination and skills. It’s fun to look back at old drawings that were stickmen and now my sketches look like real people. Writing is a good way to use your imagination and to share what is going on in your mind with other people. Reading is a good way to escape and not feel alone because you feel like someone is there with you. Once you start it you don’t want to stop.

My favorite authors or writing & drawing mentors? Dav Pilkey creates funny stories and is an artist. He has inspired me. Art for Kids Hub was an easy drawing youtube channel that helped me when I was first starting out. 

My advice for someone just starting out reading, writing or drawing? 

1. Write what you know to start off, then try thinking about characters and a problem and how to solve that problem. 

2. With reading, go to a library and wander around, try different kinds of books to explore, you might be surprised. 

3. With drawing, it may not look right the first time, but find something you like about the drawing and keep working at it.
